Surfing! Oh how I admired and dreamed of the day I could try surfing when I lived in Sweden. Japan has world class locations for surfers of all levels. If you have ever dreamed of trying this out, Japan is the place to do it! Our instructor was such an amazing guy. I felt so safe in the water that I pushed myself beyond what I thought was possible! I’ve been to hundreds of hot springs by now, but they continue to fascinate me. Whenever I visit a new part of Japan I make it a thing to try out a local onsen.
サーフィン！スウェーデンに住んでいた頃、「いつかやってみたい！」とずっと憧れていたアクティビティでした。日本には初心者から上級者まで楽しめる世界レベルのサーフスポットがたくさんあります。もし一度でも挑戦してみたいと思ったことがあるなら、日本は本当におすすめの場所です！今回のインストラクターも最高で、水の中でもすごく安心感があり、自分が思っていた以上にチャレンジすることができました。 これまでに数えきれないほど温泉に行ってきましたが、何度訪れてもその魅力に引き込まれます。新しい土地に行くと、必ずその地域の温泉に入るようにしているんです。

Though Japan is slowly changing and evolving, tattoos are still frowned upon at a lot of places like public baths, pools, water parks, and even some traditional Japanese hotels. Make sure to investigate this before you head out to one of these locations if you have tattoos and save yourself a difficult (and not winnable) conversation.
日本も少しずつ変わってきていますが、タトゥーに対してまだ厳しい場所は意外と多いです。特に公共浴場やプール、ウォーターパーク、さらには一部の伝統的な旅館などでは入場を断られることも。タトゥーがある方は、出かける前に必ず確認しておくのがおすすめです。現地で交渉してもなかなか状況は変わらないので…（笑）。事前チェックでスムーズに楽しみましょう！
