Introduction

I created “Getting Dirty in Japan” because I wanted to show Japan in a way that isn't polished or staged. I grew up in Sweden with nature as part of daily life and I know how powerful it is to step out of your comfort zone and get your hands dirty. Too often outdoor shows make activities look easier or harder than they really are. I wanted to create something honest. A show where trying something new feels exciting but also a little awkward at times, just like it does in real life. I also wanted people to see that most adventures aren’t perfect, but are worth it. This show is about real moments and discovering parts of Japan that usually don’t make it into guidebooks. Whether you love the outdoors or you’re just curious about it, my hope is that this show makes outdoor adventures feel more approachable and reminds you that you don’t have to be an expert to get started.

「Getting Dirty in Japan」を作った理由は、日本を「きれいに整えられた姿」や「作られた演出」ではなく、もっとリアルな形で伝えたかったからです。

私はスウェーデンで、自然が日常の一部としてある環境で育ちました。 だからこそ、慣れた場所を一歩飛び出して、思いきり汚れながら挑戦することが、どれほど力をくれるものかを知っています。

アウトドア番組の中には、体験を必要以上に簡単に見せたり、逆に大げさに難しく見せてしまうものも少なくありません。 でも、私が作りたかったのは、もっと正直な番組。

新しいことに挑戦するワクワク感と、ちょっと気まずかったり戸惑ったりする瞬間、その両方がちゃんと映る番組です。実際の体験って、そういうものだと思うから。 ほとんどの冒険は、完璧じゃありません。 でも、それでも「やってよかった」と思える。

この番組は、そんなリアルな瞬間と、ガイドブックにはあまり載らない日本の一面を見つけていく物語です。

アウトドアが大好きな人も、なんとなく気になっているだけの人も。

この番組が、アウトドアを少し身近に感じるきっかけになって、 「最初から上手じゃなくてもいいんだ」と思ってもらえたら嬉しいです。
